February Book Haul
One of my New years resolutions was to read through my book collection, I have a LOT of books, I somehow managed to convince myself I needed more so here's what recently arrived.
1) F**k it the ultimate spiritual way by John C. Parkin, the title says it all doesn't it? That's what drew me to buy this unapologetic book, saying F**k it feels good, stops unnecessary struggling and sets you free from what's holding you back. I feel like this is a modern expression of eastern ideologies of letting go and going with the flow. As a major anxious person (I know I don't seem to be one but I am) I'm looking forward to reading this and learning to live the F**k it way
2) We should all be feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, in this extended Essay of her much viewed TEDx talk of the same name, she explores what Feminism means today. I'm a big believer in equal opportunities and against gender discrimination, I feel at times being a woman in this day and age can be challenging especially because women are often put into a box of subordination but I know we are bring a change to social norms and the future needs women that are strong leaders. I'm almost done with this book and loving it so far.
3) Animal Farm by George Orwell is an allegorical and dystopian novella published in 1945, the book reflects events leading up to the Russian Revolution of 1917 and then the Stalinist era of the Soviet Union. I think most people read this in high school English class, so I'm making up for lost time and catching up.
Hope you enjoyed my little book haul! Have you already read these or thinking about reading them? Hope your week has been brilliant!
