My pamper routine

There's nothing I love more than to relax my mind and my body, I thought I'd share my personal pamper routine. I try to do this once a week, taking care of yourself is a spiritual practise and a necessary one, because once you feel good you become a positive presence for the people in your life. I'll share with you my methods of de-stressing in a future post but for today lets get our pamper on!

People always ask why I have such soft skin and clear skin, my secret is that I exfoliate from head to toe! I don't do this all the time but at least 3 times a month, I've been using Sanctuary spa Butter Scrum for years it exfoliates and moisturises all in one! It smells beautiful and relaxing with the calming scent of sweet almond oil, my skin feels incredibly soft and clean after using this. I then run myself a bath adding Foaming bath soak which creates rich and creamy bubbles. It contains wheat proteins and soothing Aloe Vera which leave my skin feeling velvety soft and smooth. This wouldn't be a pamper post without a Lush bomb! When I feel like I want to let my hair down whilst also having a bit of fun I get out my Lush bombs! They create major bath fun with crazy colours and fizz out fancy smells all for a small affordable price. To the left we have Honey Bee it smells of Honey, aloe vera and sweet wild orange, I really like the smell and it leaves my skin feeling soft and fresh I guess its because of the added Rhassoul mud. To the write we have The Experimenter  this is by far my favourite to use if I'm feeling stressed, it turns your bath into a rainbow, if nothing makes you smile this will! It has popping candy and smells spicy and reminds me of christmas or an indian spa, this calms and relaxes my mind, plus its also very entertaining.

I love face masks especially inexpensive ones, these two are from superdrugs on the left we have the Anti-aging moisture mask, it's super thick and gives more than enough coverage, it gets into the pours and relieves all my dry spots on my face. To the right we have a hydrating self heating mask  I love these as it's so calming to have heat on your face, it tingles for me and leaves my skin moisturised and glowing. Ofcourse as you can tell my skin needs more moisture so if these products don't fit your skin type there are far more masks in the range for you to have a look.

Even hair needs a little pampering! I found this hair mask in super drugs a few weeks ago and I really love it, since going natural I've been looking for products that will hydrate and lock moisture in my hair. I add this Black seed, deep conditioning Hair Mask after I've shampooed my hair, it contains 500g of product more than enough to last more than a month. Its very easy to apply to hair from root to tip I leave it in for about 20 minutes (as i enjoy a Lush bath), and wash it out. It leaves my hair smelly incredible, super soft, feels healthy and shiny!

My skin loves oil! I've tried using body lotions but they leave my skin feeling dry and stripped of moisture (how many times have I said Moisture haha). To the left is a body oil introduced to me by my aunty Jo who lives in Paris, Avene Huile corporelle body oil is highly nourishing, contains natural vegetable oils and vitamins A and E, treats cutaneous drying, emollients dry and very sensitive skin. To the right is an oldie but a goodie good ol' Johnsons baby oil not only does it lock in more than double the moisture it leaves my skin feeling super hydrated and soft as a babies bottom. I use it right after I have a bath while my skin is still wet this is my everyday go to, especially now that the weather is getting cold. To the far right is my go to for pamper nights, its the Champneys Citrus blush dry body oil, with its warming blend of cardamom, lemon, sesame seed and rice bran oil, this wonderfully softening dry body oil is full of delicious, feel-good aromas. Easily absorbed, it leaves my skin silky smooth and glowing. Highly recommended! I bought mine from Superdrugs but I think it's been discontinued, have a look online for external sources.

After timing and filing my nails I add a generous coat of my favourite nail polish Never say Goodbye by Anny. I bought this a year ago in Paris and it has lasted me so long, its a light iridescent pink which has sparkling, shimmering glitter. It's quick to dry and has lasts for about 4/5 days, I receive a lot of compliments when I wear this nail polish, because it's subtle but demands attention.

Now I do Yoga every night but on my lazy days I do some colouring, I know what you're thinking how can colouring help me destress? I know I didn't believe it either, for me personally it lets me relax and releases my creativity, by focusing on colouring I practice being in the moment and all the stresses of the day vanish! It brings a bit of childs play into my day, I use this Zen colouring book, it has over 40 beautiful designs of nature for me to paint as I please. This also helps when I have insomnia or wake up at 3am (this happens a lot), I feel like art has healing within it and this is a great day to rest your mind if you've had a hectic day.

I love to read, I find it's something I look forward to every day and recently I exchanged this little gem at Oval station where they have a book shelf, its pretty simple you donate one book and pick one up! Book Recycling -genius! Here is a Synopsis of The Ghosts of heaven by Marcus Sedgwick "Timeless, beautiful, and haunting, spirals connect the four episodes of The Ghosts of Heaven, the mesmerizing new novel from Printz Award winner Marcus Sedgwick. They are there in prehistory, when a girl picks up a charred stick and makes the first written signs; there tens of centuries later, hiding in the treacherous waters of Golden Beck that take Anna, who people call a witch; there in the halls of a Long Island hospital at the beginning of the 20th century, where a mad poet watches the oceans and knows the horrors it hides; and there in the far future, as an astronaut faces his destiny on the first spaceship sent from earth to colonize another world. Each of the characters in these mysterious linked stories embarks on a journey of discovery and survival; carried forward through the spiral of time, none will return to the same place." - that says it all doesn't it ? I'm currently on the 10th page and I'm hooked! Reading allows the brain to relax and I find getting engulfed in a story is very inspiring and therapeutic.

I hope you take time out to give back to yourself, there's something I'm learning you can't give what you don't have, self care and self love all begin with you. Be good to You :), as a Bonus here are a few songs I've found deeply therapeutic! Relax, read a book and listen to these.
